Simple, breezy, but hypnotically catchy, Playboi Carti is fine proof that less is more. As with sometime collaborators Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert (not to mention spiritual godfather Young Thug), there are times when it doesnt even feel like Carti is rapping so much as stacking syllables in space or working out some weird nursery rhymean effortless, off-the-cuff quality that makes the neon trap of Magnolia and Wokeuplikethis* all the more appealing. Being hell-bent on having a good time doesnt hurt either.
