Cheri, Cheri Lady was Modern Talkings third single in a row that peaked at #1 on the German singles chart. This is the only single released from Modern Talkings second album Lets Talk About Love, released in 1985. Before Cheri Cheri Lady reached Gold, it spent four weeks at the top and sold over 250,000 copies in Germany. The single also received a Silver status in France.
